Syrena the Mermaid

YES! I am finally done with the project! I was assigned to do an Hispanic role model for Spanish class and I chose Astrid Berges. I mostly chose her because she's a model AND she played Syrena the mermaid in my favorite movie of all time (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides).

She has an interesting past as well. She originally wanted to be a doctor but her father's death led her to want to become an actress. When she was chosen to play Syrena, she had to learn English for the role, since she's only fluent in Spanish, French, and Catalan.

Astrid was personally handpicked by Rob Marshall and Jerry Bruckheimer to play the role of Syrena. Another fun fact is that her tail is actually made entirely in CGI, when I thought that there were some shots (ex: water tank) where she actually wore an tail.
